Pohamba to attend SADC/ICGLR Joint Summit

WINDHOEK, 04 NOV (NAMPA) - President Hifikepunye Pohamba will leave for Pretoria, South Africa on Monday for the joint Southern African Development Community (SADC) and International Conference on the Great Lakes’ Region (ICGLR).
The two-day joint summit on Monday and Tuesday was preceded by a ministerial meeting on Sunday.
The meeting aims at analysing, amongst other things, the implementation of the Framework Agreement for Peace, Stability and Cooperation in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) as signed on 24 February 2013 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Defence Minister Nahas Angula, Foreign Affairs’ Minister Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, Namibian High Commissioner to Botswana Hadino Hishongwa, Namibian High Commissioner to Tanzania Japhet Isaack and other senior government officials form part of the delegation.
The delegation is expected to return on Tuesday.
