Man dies after vehicle collision

OSHAKATI, 28 SEP (NAMPA) – A man died on the spot, while, two other people sustained serious to slight injuries on Wednesday after the vehicles they were traveling in collided with an truck at Onembaba Village in the Omusati Region.
The Namibian Police Force through its daily crime report issued on Thursday, confirmed that the accident claimed the life of 36-year-old deceased Kambala Josua.
It is alleged that the deceased who was driving a sedan accidentally indicated to be turning into one direction, while actually turning into another, confusing the driver of the truck who was trying to overtake.
The deceased’s next of kin have been informed and police investigations continue.
In an unrelated matter, a 70-year-old pensioner died after a roof collapsed on her on Wednesday at an unspecified time at Shadipwera Village in Kavango East.
The deceased was identified as Yihure Kambowo and her next of kin have been informed.
In the Oshikoto Region on Wednesday, the body of 73-year-old Matias Piet was discovered by his wife in their mahangu field at Onaame Village.
The body was found at 07h00 and the cause of death has not yet been established.
A post mortem will be conducted.

In an unrelated matter at Ongwediva’s Hanover residential area on Wednesday, a 45-year-old male was arrested after he was found transporting three heads of cattle, for which he could not provide proof of ownership.
He was arrested on suspicion of livestock theft.
The cattle and the vehicle used for transportation were impounded.
Police investigations continue.
Another man was arrested at Rehoboth after he reportedly broke into a tourist’s vehicle and stole items valued at N.dollars 14 000 on Wednesday.
This occurred at about 14h00 at the Woerman and Brock grocery parking area.
A small bag and a jersey were recovered.
