Workshops on Blueprint on Poverty Eradication in October

WINDHOEK, 27 SEP (NAMPA) Popularisation workshops on the Blueprint on Wealth Redistribution and Poverty Eradication will be held countrywide next month.
The blueprint is a policy document that contains strategic interventions to be taken to respond to challenges of poverty in Namibia.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Chief Public Relations Officer in the Ministry of Poverty Eradication and Social Welfare, Lot Ndamanomhata said the workshops will commence in Katima Mulilo next Monday and end in Keetmanshoop on 24 October 2017.
The objective of the workshops is to inform stakeholders of the content of the blueprint and its implementation plan.
The targeted stakeholders are regional councils, traditional authorities, local authorities, non-governmental organisations, civil society organisations and the private sector.
It also aims to forge collaboration with stakeholders and enhance coordination of the activities under the implementation plan.
Established in 2015, the ministry is mandated to lead and coordinate national efforts to eradicate poverty and reduce inequality in Namibia.
