Hit and run accident reported at Rehoboth

WINDHOEK, 24 SEP (NAMPA) – A 30-year-old man was admitted to the hospital on Saturday after he was involved in a hit and run accident in Rehoboth.
According to the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) weekend crime report issued on Sunday, the driver of the Volkswagen Jetta reportedly drove away after the accident in Rehoboth's Block F residential area at around 21h40.
The victim is said to be in a stable condition and anyone with information regarding the incident is requested to contact the Rehoboth Police Station.
In a separate incident also at Rehoboth, at around 05h40, a 20-year-old man allegedly ran into an oncoming vehicle and sustained injuries.
He was admitted to the St Mary’s hospital. No arrests have been made and police investigations continue.
Meanwhile, 36-year-old Elias Tuhafeni died on Thursday on the Okahandja/Hochfeld road after the car he was in overturned when the driver lost control.
The 40-year-old driver sustained serious injuries and was admitted to hospital.
A case of culpable homicide is being investigated and the deceased’s next of kin have been informed.
A case of attempted murder is being investigated after a member of NamPol reportedly shot and injured three 13-year-old boys at Uyoka village in the Oshikoto Region Saturday night.
The incident allegedly occurred after the suspect saw a light in his mahangu field and fired a warning shot, urging the culprits to show themselves.
The boys however ran away and the man reportedly fired shots randomly, injuring the teenagers.
All three sustained injuries - one in the right arm, another in the left arm and one in the back.
They are however all in a stable condition at the Onandjokwe State Hospital.
No arrests have been made yet and the police investigation continues.
