Geingob arrives in New York

NEW YORK, 12 SEP (NAMPA) - President Hage Geingob arrived in New York, United States of America (USA) on Monday afternoon.
The Head of State, accompanied by First Lady Monica Geingos, was received by a Namibian delegation comprising Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah; Minister of Mines and Energy Obeth Kandjoze; Minister of Economic Planning Tom Alweendo; and Minister of Urban and Rural Development Sophia Shaningwa.
Minister of Environment and Tourism Pohamba Shifeta is expected to arrive later this week.
Geingob is on an official mission to the USA until 22 September, and is expected to address the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly on 20 September as speaker number eight.
He is also expected to hold private consultations with his counterparts from around the world as well as UN Secretary-General, António Guterres.
