Boy, 15, takes own life

WINDHOEK, 10 SEP (NAMPA) – A 15-year-old boy allegedly hanged himself at home in Otjomuise on Friday.
According to the Namibian Police Force (NamPol)’s weekend crime report, the incident occured at around 11h30 in Amsterdam Street.
NamPol spokesperson, Chief Inspector Kauna Shikwambi said the deceased hanged himself with a rope in the corridor of the house and left behind a suicide note stating that “life is a waste of time” and that he was sorry for taking his life.
The deceased was identified as Eugene Mario van Zyl and his next of kin have been informed.
Meanwhile, another suicide was reported at Oshikango in the Ohangwena Region on Friday after Shipululo Petrus Tangeni, 24, allegedly hanged himself in a tree.
His next of kin have been informed and police investigations continue.
At Okahao, a woman found her husband hanging in their bedroom on Friday.
According to NamPol, the man identified as Lukas Silvanus Vaino, 32, was discovered at about 19h00 at Okalale village.
No suicide note was left behind and the deceased’s next of kin have been informed.
