Woman kills partner in Kunene

WINDHOEK, 28 AUG (NAMPA) – A 36-year-old woman allegedly killed her partner at Erwee settlement in the Kunene Region’s Sesfontein Constituency on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Patrick Pietersen Dausab, 37, and his next of kin have been informed.
Crime investigations coordinator of the Namibian Police Force in the Kunene Region, Deputy Commissioner Rudolf Kanyetu told Nampa on Monday the couple started arguing after Dausab accused the suspect of having an affair with another man.
The woman allegedly used a wire to strangle Dausab and he then fell and hit his head on the floor, which is thought to have caused his death.
The suspect was arrested and is expected to appear in the Outjo Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
Kanyetu also reported that a 14-year-old girl was run over by a Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration vehicle in Opuwo on Sunday at 16h00.
The girl was taken to the Oshakati State Hospital in a critical condition.
The driver was a 37-year-old male employee of the ministry who was allegedly under the influence of alcohol.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Opuwo Magistrate’s Court on charges of negligent driving and driving while under the influence of alcohol.
