WINDHOEK, 20 AUG (NAMPA) - Windhoek Gymnasium defeated Walvis Bay High School 31-9 to win their third title of the Momentum Rugby Board Trophy Under-19 Super League.
The match was played at the Hage Geingob Stadium in Windhoek on Saturday.
Gymnasium opened the scoring with a try as early as the ninth minute.
By half-time, Gymnasium ran in two tries, scored one penalty and converted twice from the spot. They missed three penalties but ended first half 17-9.
The Walvis Bay outfit only scored three times from the spot kick in the first half for their nine points on the day.
In the second half, Gymnasium continued where they left off in the first half, running in two more tries which they converted.
They first won the trophy in 2014 and successfully defended it in 2015 before losing the title to 17-time winner, Windhoek High School, in 2016.
The league is an annual schools' rugby tournament which has been running since 1992. It was formerly known as the Metropolitan Schools' Trophy, but was in 2014 renamed following the merging of Metropolitan and Momentum Namibia.
