ONGWEDIVA, 19 AUG (NAMPA) – Two girls aged six and eight were allegedly raped by a neighbour at the Iindongo yaKeelu village in the Oshikoto Region on Friday.
Namibian Police Force’s Crime Investigations Coordinator for the region, Deputy Commissioner Naomi Katjiua said in the crime report on Saturday the 38-year-old suspect has been arrested.
It is alleged that the man lured the girls into his hut at around 16h00 and forced them into having sexual intercourse.
“The girls’ 14-year-old uncle saw them coming from the suspect’s hut carrying soap, a pencil and a ruler,” said Katjiua.
He told his mother - who is the girls’ grandmother - what he saw and the matter was reported to the police.
The identity of the suspect is withheld as he is yet to appear in court.
