Pensioner allegedly commits suicide in Swakop

WINDHOEK, 08 AUG (NAMPA) – An 81-year-old man allegedly committed suicide in Swakopmund Monday morning.
Head of the Namibian Police Force’s Public Relations Division, Deputy Commissioner Edwin Kanguatjivi in the crime report issued on Tuesday said the body of Joachim Adalbert Kulik was found by his domestic worker after she heard a gunshot.
It was found lying in a pool of blood with a pistol in one hand.
No suicide note was left behind.
The body was taken to the Walvis Bay police mortuary for a post-mortem and his next of kin have been informed.
Meanwhile, a decomposed body was found hanging from a tree behind the Fire Brigade headquarters in Windhoek Tuesday morning.
The deceased is said to be in his 40s. It is suspected that he was homeless and lived in the area.
Also in the Khomas Region, a 23-year-old man was electrocuted at the Dordabis Primary School Tuesday morning at around 03H00 while collecting water.
The police said there were exposed electrical wires near the tap.
The body was taken to the mortuary and the man’s next of kin were notified.
