OTJIWARONGO, 28 JUL (NAMPA) - Two suspected cannabis dealers were on Thursday arrested at Okahandja.
Spokesperson of the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) in the Otjozondjupa Region, Warrant Officer Maureen Mbeha told Nampa in an interview Friday, a bag full of cannabis parcels was confiscated from them at a house in the Oshetu informal settlement.
The suspects are aged 43 and 18.
Mbeha said a team of Okahandja police officers had been monitoring the house where cannabis was allegedly being sold and on Thursday they acted swiftly to arrest the two.
“The duo faces charges of possession and dealing in cannabis,” said the police officer.
The 100 parcels of cannabis found in their possession have an estimated street value of close to N.dollars 190 000.
Mbeha said it is still unknown where the two had sourced the large amount of cannabis from.
They are expected to appear in the Okahandja Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
