Rugby season reaches climax

WINDHOEK, 20 JUL (NAMPA) – The 2017 Namibia Rugby season is reaching its climax, with the semi-final play-offs scheduled for this weekend at the Hage Geingob Rugby Stadium, while the finals are scheduled for next weekend.
The fixtures made available to Nampa by the Namibia Rugby Union on Thursday indicate that the first match will be the First Division clash between West Coast Sharks and Grootfontein at 10h00 on Saturday.
The second clash that day will be between Ocean Swallows and Etosha Lions at 11h40.
In the reserve league, Western Suburbs II will face Wanderers II at 13h20 in the first semi-final on Saturday, while University of Namibia (UNAM) II will clash Reho Falcons II at 15h00 the same day.
In the Premier League, a repeat of the First Division clash will see Western Suburbs playing Wanderers on Saturday in the first semi-final, with kick-off scheduled for 16h40.
In the final clash of the day, three times defending champions UNAM I will play surprise package Walvish Bay from 18h15.
The winners of all these clashes will play each other in the finals slated for 29 July at the same venue from 11h00.
This will be the same day Namibia will play Kenya in a once-off Test Match. The finals will determine the champions for the 2017 season.
