Helao Nafidi Business Expo 2013 kicks off

ONGWEDIVA, 29 OCT (NAMPA) – The 9th edition of the Helao Nafidi Business Expo commenced its activities on Monday.
One of the organisers of the expo, Selma Shekuza confirmed this in a telephonic interview with Nampa on Tuesday.
Shekuza, who doubles as the town’s acting Local Economic and Development officer, pointed out that about 100 Namibian exhibitors have been registered for the expo in the northern border town of Helao Nafidi of the Ohangwena Region this year.
She indicated that only 97 of those exhibitors have taken up their stands thus far, and the rest were anticipated to show up as of Tuesday.
According to Shekuza, 58 of the registered exhibitors are doing business in food and beverages, and they were allocated stands in the open space of the expo venue.
The rest of the exhibitors are corporate companies and/or public and private institutions accommodated in a half-indoor space.
The 2013 Helao Nafidi Business Expo is taking place at its usual venue, the Helao Nafidi Recreation Park, which is situated some 5km from the Oshikango border post.
Trade and Industry Minister Calle Schlettwein is expected to officially open the expo on behalf of President Hifikepunye Pohamba on Wednesday.
The seven-day 2013 Helao Nafidi Business Expo runs until Sunday, and is anticipated to attract a number of visitors from different regions of Namibia.
