Man dies on Windhoek-Rehoboth road

WINDHOEK, 16 JUL (NAMPA) - One person died and another was seriously injured after their vehicle overturned on the Windhoek-Rehoboth road near the Omeya Golf Estate in the early hours of Saturday.
The Namibian Police Force’s Head of Media Relations, Chief Inspector Kauna Shikwambi said in a media statement on Sunday it is alleged that the driver lost control of the vehicle.
The deceased has been identified as 29-year-old Carlo Feris. The other person who was in the car was admitted to the hospital and is in critical condition.
The next of kin of the deceased have been informed and police investigations continue.
Meanwhile in Windhoek, 18-year-old Dixson Adriaan was stabbed to death by a known suspect in Kingsley Street on Sunday morning at 01h43.
Shikwambi said Adriaan was on his way home when the suspect, who was sitting on a pavement with other men, allegedly insulted him and his friend, to which the friend responded.
The suspect chased after Adriaan and his friend and stabbed Adriaan.
His next of kin are informed and police investigations continue.
In the Omusati Region, three people died instantly when the well they were in collapsed at the Omaluwa cattle post in the Tsandi Constituency on Friday at around 13h00.
Shikwambi said the men were busy removing mud from the well when it caved in on them.
They were identified as Aiyambo Lukas Penombili, 20, of Ongonolwa village and Onesmus Safinus Tooleni, 30, a resident of Onashitendo. The third man was only identified as ‘Kondjou’ and he was from Onashitendo village.
Their next of kin are informed and police investigations continue.
