OPUWO, 12 JUL (NAMPA) – Kunene Regional Governor, Angelika Muharukua has called on leaders and civil servants in Kunene to effectively execute their mandates to realise the regional development aspirations and objectives.
Muharukua made this call during her State of the Region Address delivered in Opuwo on Wednesday.
According to the governor, the well-crafted regional vision makes room for the Kunene Region to become the fastest developing region that provides quality and accessible services and a hub for sustainable investment in Namibia by 2030.
The governor also urged Chairperson of the Kunene Regional Council, Julius Kaujova to develop Public Private Partnership (PPP) as, according to her, this will bring about the much needed foreign direct investment in the region.
“The PPP Act was recently signed into law by the Namibian Head of State, Dr Hage Geingob and we should capitalise and take a leading role in developing bankable investment projects,” Muharukua remarked.
The governor also reflected on some completed projects in the region such as the recently handed over clinic at Onjuva in the Epupa Constituency and the one at Queen Sophia, upgrading of the Sesfontein Health Centre, the drilling of boreholes at Omuramba, Ohamaremba and Okapundja, and the settlement at Okanguati.
The event was attended by constituency councillors, the public and Government officials.
