Otjiozondjupa Swapo co-ordinator survives accident

OTJIWARONGO, 27 JUN (NAMPA) – The Swapo-Party's Otjozondjupa regional co-ordinator, Susan Hikopua survived an accident on Monday after the vehicle she was traveling in hit a kudu in the Ovitoto district.
Hikopua told Nampa in an interview on Tuesday she was treated at the Okahandja State Hospital shortly after the accident, along with two other Swapo-Party Youth League Omatako district leaders who were in the car with her.
There were 10 people, including her 45-year-old driver, were in the vehicle which belongs to the Swapo party.
She said the vehicle was assigned to her office to assist in the party restructuring activities in the Otjozondjupa Region.
They were coming from a district conference at a nearby village in the same district.
About 50 kilometres north-west of Ovitoto in the Omatako Constituency at around 17h30, the vehicle drove into the kudu on the gravel road to Ovitoto settlement.
The animal was killed upon impact.
Hikopua said three of the occupants sustained serious to slight injuries.
