Put Foot Foundation donates shoes to Otjiwarongo children

OTJIWARONGO, 23 JUN (NAMPA) – Five-hundred learners in Otjiwarongo on Thursday received new shoes from the Put Foot Foundation based in South Africa.
Managing Director of the foundation, Daryn Hillhouse handed over the shoes manufactured by his foundation.
“Our foundation is a public beneficiary organisation that has helped thousands of school children across rural areas in South Africa to get access to proper school shoes,” said Hillhouse.
The shoes can be worn for five years.
Otjozondjupa Acting Regional Education Deputy Director, Nickey Eiman received the donation on behalf of the learners.
Eiman said 500 learners from 10 different schools in and around Otjiwarongo were identified by his office to benefit from the donation.
He said the Put Foot Foundation asked the Otjozondjupa Region Education Directorate to identify children in need of shoes.
Learners from the Tsaraxa-Aibes Primary School (PS), Monica Geingos Junior Secondary School, Orwetoveni PS, Rogate PS, Karundu PS, Spes Bona PS, Kalkfeld PS, GK Wahl Combined School, Karundu Junior Secondary School and Paresis Senior Secondary School benefited from the donation.
Speaking on behalf of the learners, Patrico !Guim thanked the Put Foot Foundation.
“The donation comes at the right time as it is becoming colder,” !Guim said.
