ONGWEDIVA, 18 JUN (NAMPA) – A 28-year-old woman from Iiputu village in the Oshikoto Region was on Saturday admitted to the Onandjokwe Hospital after she was stabbed, allegedly by an ex-boyfriend.
The woman's 47-year-old ex-boyfriend was arrested Saturday and is due to appear before the Ondangwa Magistrate’s Court on Monday on a charge of attempted murder.
The incident took place at a cuca shop in Onankali’s Uuhama location at about 17h00, following a quarrel between the two.
A staff member in the Namibian Police Force’s Oshikoto crime investigation coordination office, Inspector Paulus Endjala in a statement issued Saturday said the woman sustained serious injuries.
“The ex-boyfriend, who is the suspect in this case, took an Okapi knife and stabbed the victim five times in the head, back and on her left shoulder,” Endjala stated.
The victim and suspect had been in a relationship for seven years and have a son aged six.
