Man commits suicide at King Kauluma

ONGWEDIVA, 18 JUN (NAMPA) – The police at Oshivelo in the Oshikoto Region have opened an inquest docket after a 33-year-old man was found hanging from a tree at King Kauluma village on Saturday.
A staff member in the Namibian Police Force’s Oshikoto crime investigation coordination office, Inspector Paulus Endjala in a statement on Saturday named the deceased as Gideon Mwashekele from Omutsegwonime village, also in the Oshikoto Region.
Endjala said Mwashekele’s body was found by a neighbour at around 06h50.
It is alleged that the deceased was involved in an argument with his girlfriend the previous night and left for his place, only to be found hanging the next morning.
The deceased was a domestic worker in the neighbourhood of his girlfriend.
Endjala said no suicide note was found.
His next of kin have been informed about his death and police investigations continue.
