Construction dies after falling from building

WINDHOEK, 16 JUN (NAMPA) - A construction worker died in Windhoek on Friday after falling from the sixth floor of a building that is being constructed in the central business district.
The man was aged between 40 and 50.
He died on the spot after falling onto an area covered in concrete between 11h00 and 11h30.
The construction site is located between the Hilton and Avani hotels, near the Windhoek Supreme Court.
His colleagues told Nampa the deceased worked for a company sub-contracted to construct the building.
The man’s body was taken to the police mortuary and investigations are underway to establish what transpired during the incident.
The deceased’s identity cannot be made public as the police are yet to inform the man’s relatives.
