ONGWEDIVA, 14 JUN (NAMPA) – The police in the Omusati Region are seeking assistance in tracing the mother of a baby whose body was found in a dam in the Oshikuku Constituency on Saturday.
Sergeant Anna Kunga of the Namibian Police Force’s public relations unit in the region made the appeal in a telephonic interview with Nampa on Wednesday.
The body of the baby boy, believed to be two to three months old, was found in a dam by villagers near the Omunghete Combined School in the Oshikushomunghete village at around 11h40.
Kunga said the baby was fully dressed.
“We are appealing to villagers in the area who might have information on the whereabouts of the mother, or anyone who knows of a woman who gave birth recently or was pregnant, to inform the police,” she said.
