Oneputa man arrested for allegedly stabbing sister

OSHAKATI, 14 JUN (NAMPA) - A 29-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death of his sister, whom he accidentally stabbed at Oneputa village in the Oshikoto Region last Friday.
Detective Inspector Paulus Endjala of the Namibian Police Force said in the daily crime report on Tuesday a case of murder and assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm has been opened against the suspect.
The 34-year-old woman and another person allegedly had a misunderstanding at a shebeen Friday night.
Her brother intervened and the woman was stabbed on the right side of her abdomen. She was taken to Onandjokwe Hospital, where she died at around 06h30 Saturday morning.
The crime report on Sunday said it was not known who stabbed her.
The police on Tuesday however said in efforts to fight off the boyfriend of the woman the deceased was arguing with, the suspect accidentally stabbed his sister.
He was arrested at Oneputa on Tuesday and will appear in the Ondangwa Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
