WINDHOEK, 12 JUN (NAMPA) – Walter ‘The Executioner’ Kautondokwa on Monday left for Ghana, where he will defend his World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Middleweight Belt against Obodai ‘The Miracle’ Sai on Friday.
In a media statement availed to Nampa by the Nestor Sunshine Boxing and Fitness Academy on Monday, Kautondokwa said he was looking forward to successfully defend his title away from home.
“I know it will be tough in Accra, I expect a tough fight and intimidating crowd but my team and me have planned nothing but a victory,” he said.
The Namibian boxer is known for his powerful shots that have seen him undefeated after 14 fights.
‘The Miracle’ is more experienced with 34 fights under his belt; 32 wins and two losses.
Trainer and promoter, Nestor Tobias and trainer Joseph Antindi are accompanying Kautondokwa.
They were expected to arrive in Ghana on Monday night to acclimatise and prepare for the fight.
The Kautondokwa-Sai fight will be the main bout on the night at the newly built Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra.
It boasts a 800-seat sports auditorium, two storey aerobic, physiotherapy and gym block, a 300-seat conference hall, an Olympic size swimming pool and a 5 000-seat open air arena for boxing.
Kautondokwa is the current WBO Africa Middleweight champion.
His last fight was in April against Med Sebyala from Uganda, whom he defeated via a technical knockout in the 10th round.
