Ndafoluma promises fireworks in July

WINDHOEK, 12 JUN (NAMPA) Middleweight boxer, Lucas The Demolisher Ndafoluma, has promised fireworks when he steps into the ring for the International Boxing Organisation (IBO) All-Africa title against Barend van Rooyen of South Africa.
He will fight during the Defending my national pride boxing bonanza by the Salute Boxing Academy (SBA) at the Ramatex Complex in Windhoek on 01 July.
This will be Ndafolumas first shot at an international title since he turned professional on 30 July 2011 after he defeated Steven Shimbonde in Windhoek.
He now has a record of 10 fights, eight wins, one loss and one no contest to his name.
Speaking at a SBA media briefing held in the capital on Monday, Ndefoluma said he has been waiting for the opportunity to make history for a long time.
Ndafoluma will be written in the history books as an African champion. I will not allow anyone, even myself, to stand in my way of being crowned an African champion because this will be my defining moment as a boxer, he said.
Ndafoluma will fight in an undercard bout during the fight of World Boxing Federation (WBF) Champion Bethuel Tyson Ushona, who will for the first time defend his welterweight title against Roman Belaev of Russia.
Some of the boxers anticipated to also fight on the night are Japhet Masterio Amukwa versus (vs) Anyway Katunga of Zambia in a six rounder flyweight bout; Joseph Smokey Hilongwa vs Robert Kachiza from Malawi in a eight round super bantamweight clash; Immanuel Joseph vs Aubrey Masamba from Malawi in a six rounder flyweight bout; and Nathaniel Iron Fist Sebastian vs Johannes Niingoti (both Namibian) in a six rounder junior lightweight clash.
Namibian boxers who will fight for national titles are Vakufilapo Cowboy Nashivela vs Simeon Shafodino for the Junior Middleweight national title, while David Opuwo Flash Shinuna and Immanuel Engel Andeleki will fight for the Junior Lightweight national title.
