WINDHOEK, 12 JUN (NAMPA) - The Salute Boxing Academy (SBA) will host its second boxing bonanza of the year, where Tyson Ushona will defend his World Boxing Federation (WBF) title.
Called Defending My National Pride, the bonanza will be held at the Ramatex complex in Windhoek on 01 July.
The night will feature four title fights: WBF world title, International Boxing Organisation (IBO) All Africa title, and two national title fights in the junior middleweight and junior lightweight categories.
Ushona won the WBF World Welterweight title in December last year after defeating Polands Rafal Jackiewicz in Windhoek.
On 01 July, he will fight Roman Belaev of Russia in his first title defence.
Lucas Ndafoluma will for the first time fight for the IBO All Africa Middleweight title against Barend van Rooyen of South Africa.
Some of the boxers anticipated to also fight on the night include Japhet Masterio Amukwa, Joseph Smokey Hilongwa, Immanuel Joseph, Nathaniel Iron Fist Sebastian, Johannes Niingoti, Vakufilapo Cowboy Nashivela, Simeon Shafodino, David Opuwo Flash Shinuna and Immanuel Engel Andeleki.
Speaking at a media briefing on Monday, SBA Spokesperson Armas Shivute said everything is in order and they are calling on people to fill up the complex in support of local boxers.
Ushona said at the event the fight will be tough, but he has prepared himself well to defend his title.
I dont know how the other opponent has prepared but I know its going to be a tough fight that I have prepared for.
