High Commissioner Mutelo wins award

OSHAKATI, 12 JUN (NAMPA) – Namibia's High Commissioner to Malaysia, Anne Namakau Mutelo won the Pride of Africa: African Woman of The Year Award.
The Pride of Africa Asia-Pacific Awards is a non-profit programme managed by the Appreciate Africa Network whose overall mission is to create awareness about Africa, African people and their culture.
A media release issued on Sunday by Founder of Appreciate Africa Network, Dr Samantha Sibanda stated that this award is given in recognition of one’s exemplary work ethic and performance, as well as commitment and dedication to providing and/or championing different projects that raise the African flags high.
Mutelo and other winners will be handed their awards on 24 June at Beijing Marriot Hotel City Hall.
The nominees hail from different parts of Africa and are all based in Asia.
There are 27 other award categories with a total of 63 Africans who were nominated for different awards, including the Best of African and Chinese Artists.
Sibanda congratulated Mutelo and other nominees on their achievements as part of the Appreciate Africa Network.
“We are very passionate about the impact that our African brothers and sisters are doing and we would like to appreciate their efforts while ensuring the world knows how proud we are of our roots and learn to appreciate us,” she said.
