WINDHOEK, 05 JUN (NAMPA)- The Pro Tennis Academy (PTA), Tennis Series will resume this weekend after the May holiday break.
The tournament will be played at the Windhoek High School tennis courts.
The PTA tennis series is the only tennis series in the country in which participants compete based on their skills set rather than their ages.
The academy trains young players between 5 and 18 years old, as well as adults aged 19 years and older in different categories.
There are five categories - the Mini category for players aged 6 to 9; Midi for players aged 8 to 9; Beginners; Intermediate; and Advanced.
This coming weekend, the fight for tournament victory and series points will once again continue with exciting action expected between Godwin Husselmann and Cleet Farmer who lead the advanced category with 2800 and 2600 points respectively.
On Friday afternoon at the Windhoek High School tennis courts, the Mini, Midi and Green Dot (full court player for age 9-10) categories will be competing, while Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced players will challenge each other on Saturday.
Romeo van Wyk, owner and head coach of PTA, told Nampa on Monday this weekend’s action will be exciting for his players and those of other academies.
“We are going to see what level our players are at when they clash with their opponents for ranking points over the weekend,” he said.
