WINDHOEK, 29 MAY (NAMPA) – Walter 'The Executioner' Kautondokwa is preparing for a tough title defence against World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Africa interim champion, Obodai Sai from Ghana.
In a media statement made available to Nampa on Monday, the Nestor Sunshine Boxing and Fitness Academy revealed that the fight is scheduled for 16 June in Accra, Ghana.
Kautondokwa is the current WBO Africa Middleweight champion, after stopping Med Sebyala with a technical knock-out in the 10th round here in April this year.
The 'Executioner' remains undefeated after 14 fights.
Sai, also known as 'The Miracle', comes in more experienced with 34 fights under his belt: 32 wins and two losses.
This will be Kautondokwa’s first professional fight outside the country, which makes it a great test of his character and confidence.
His trainer, Nestor Tobias, considers him one of the hardest punchers in the middleweight division.
Kautondokwa was quoted in the statement as saying he is excited about the fight against a very tough opponent, but is confident of a victory.
“I knew there would come a time when I would have to fight outside the country, but I am not worried,” said Kautondokwa.
He is ranked 10th and Sai 12th by the WBO.
