REHOBOTH, 22 MAY (NAMPA) – The second and third round of the Hardap Second Division took place over the past weekend, with 34 goals produced over the two days.
The matches were played in Gochas, Mariental, Kalkrand and Gibeon.
The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) Football Club scored 11 goals in total.
The men in uniform hammered Daweb Stars FC from Maltahöhe by six goals to three on Saturday before thumping another Maltahöhe outfit, White Cosmos FC by five goals to nil.
NamPol FC coach Eglin Jossop told Nampa on Monday the recent National Police Sports Championships in Swakopmund helped them to prepare.
“We had vigorous preparations for the police games and the experience we picked up there, although we lost in the final, is helping our team a lot. The boys brought the good form they had in the games over to the league,” he said.
Jossop added that they aim to win the league and qualify for the Southern Stream First Division to eventually get into the Namibia Premier League.
He said they are fortunate to have signed Hardap Under-20 Namibian Newspaper Cup team players Marius Jantze and playmaker Benni Mouton. Both Jantze and Mouton scored over the weekend.
In other results, Hardap Correctional Facility beat Black Marocco Chiefs FC by two goals to nil, while Bee Bob Brothers FC hammered newcomers Latinos FC from Rehoboth by five goals to two.
