WINDHOEK, 22 MAY (NAMPA) – A joint continental validation seminar hosted by the Science Granting Councils Initiative and African, Science, Technology and Innovation Indicators Initiative (ASTII) starts here on Wednesday.
The three-day seminar will explore the Science, Technology and Innovation Strategy for Africa (STISA) 2024 implementation guide and the need for a set of indicators for tracking the performances of such continental strategy.
STISA 2024 is a policy document central to shaping Africa’s science, technology and innovation activities in future, which have the potential to help the continent develop socio-economically.
The seminar will also focus on the role of research in the context of development programme Agenda 2063, which outlines Africa’s common priorities.
New Partnership for Africa’s Development Public Relations Officer, Robert Muyanga said in a media statement issued Friday, Science, Technology and Innovation are the major enablers to a knowledge-based innovation-led economy in the context of the Agenda 2063.
The summit will be hosted in conjunction with the National Commission on Research, Science and Technology and ends Friday.
