Two commit suicide in Windhoek

WINDHOEK, 21 MAY (NAMPA) – The body of an unidentified man suspected to have committed suicide was found in a vehicle parked in the bushes in Kleine Kuppe on Saturday.
The body was discovered by a passer-by at about 15h30.
Namibian Police Force (NamPol) spokesperson, Chief Inspector Kaunapawa Shikwambi said in a police report issued on Sunday it is suspected that the man committed suicide by filling the vehicle with carbon monoxide using a pipe attached to the vehicle's exhaust pipe.
NamPol asked that anyone with a missing relative should visit the Windhoek Police Mortuary for identification purposes.
Meanwhile, in Wanaheda, the body of the 20-year-old Festus Uyake was found hanging from a tree on Friday.
The body was discovered at about 06h45 in the Havana settlement. The motive behind the suicide is not known as no suicide note was left behind.
The deceased’s next of kin have been informed.
In another incident, a 25-year-old man was shot and injured in the left shoulder by an unknown suspect while walking towards the Kambaka bar in Havana on Sunday.
He was admitted to the Katutura Intermediate Hospital and is said to be in a critical condition.
No arrests have been made and police investigations continue.
Meanwhile, a Kamanjab farmer was arrested after he allegedly illegally shot and killed a zebra valued at N.dollars 14 000 at Farm Cauas in the Kunene Region on Friday.
The incident occurred between 14h00 and 15h00.
The suspect was charged with illegal hunting of protected game and is due to appear in court on Monday.
