Two behind bars for livestock theft

WINDHOEK, 20 MAY (NAMPA) – Forty-four goats and 22 sheep were stolen from Heelas Unit B, a resettlement unit in the Kunene Region’s Kamanjab area.
The Namibian Police Force’s (NamPol) Crime Investigation Coordinator for Kunene, Deputy Commissioner Rudolf Kanyetu confirmed the theft to Nampa on Thursday.
He said the incident occurred on 10 May 2017, but was only reported to the police on Thursday.
Thirty-two goats have been recovered, while only two of the 22 sheep are still missing.
The missing animals were reportedly found at Marinohoe village.
Two suspects, both aged 42, have been arrested in connection with the theft. They cannot be named as they are yet to appear in court.
Police investigations continue.
