Basson visits Government offices

KEETMANSHOOP, 18 MAY (NAMPA) – //Kharas Governor, Lucia Basson is conducting familiarisation visits to Government ministerial offices and agencies in the region’s capital, Keetmanshoop.
The visits started on Monday and will continue till 09 June.
By Tuesday, Basson had visited the ministries of Defence, Finance (Customs and Excise), Land Reform and Agriculture, Water and Forestry.
On Wednesday, she convened with staff of the ministries of Gender Equality and Child Welfare and of Home Affairs and Immigration.
The purpose of Basson’s visits, according to her office, is to meet with management and staff of the particular institutions to discuss matters such as decentralisation and challenges.
The meetings were also set to discuss envisaged projects, latest developments and new proposals of the various offices.
Rounding up the topics listed were quarterly reports and inspection of the offices and facilities.
In letters informing the heads of the institutions about the visits, Basson wrote that her office “remained committed in resolving issues amicably”.
Some of the offices still to be visited include, Ministry of Works and Transport, President’s Office, University of Namibia southern campus, Namibian Institute of Mining Technology, Ministry of Prisons and Correctional Services, Keetmanshoop Municipality and National Housing Enterprise.
