Man drowns in a swamp while taking bath

WINDHOEK, 13 MAY (NAMPA) - A 23-year-old man drowned in a swamp at Sikondo village of the Kapako Constituency on Tuesday at about 16h00.
A crime report issued on Friday by Namibian Police Force (NamPol) Deputy Commissioner, Edwin Kanguatjivi said the deceased, Mbambangandu Vilho, and his cousin were allegedly taking a bath in a swamp near his homestead in the Kavango West Region at the time of the incident.
His body is not yet retrieved and police investigation continues.
His next of kin have been informed.
And elsewhere, a 39-year-old man died Tuesday after he lost control over the double cab pick-up he was driving on the D1635 gravel road near Epukiro in the Omaheke Region.
The accident took place at about 15h00.
He died on the way to the Gobabis State Hospital.
Two passengers survived the accident but sustained slight injuries.
In a separate incident, Muronga Johannes, 23, died on the spot when a vehicle allegedly hit him on Thursday at Mpora village in the Kavango West Region.
The incident took place at about 23h40.
The suspect fled the scene.
Johannes' next of kin have been informed and police investigation continues.
