WINDHOEK, 11 MAY (NAMPA) – The six-month-old baby who went missing on Saturday evening at Epupa village in the Epupa Constituency of the Kunene Region, was by Thursday afternoon not yet found.
Namibian Police Force Crime Investigation Coordinator in Kunene, Deputy Commissioner Rudolf Kanyetu told Nampa the police are still trying to trace the baby girl.
Kanyetu said the baby was sleeping with her mother outside when she went missing.
The mother discovered the baby was missing when she woke up to breastfeed the infant.
Kanyetu said this is the first of its kind in Kunene.
“We have had cases of children who got lost while looking after goats or others who got lost on their way between villages, but not of a baby who can’t even walk going missing.”
He urged parents to be aware of their children’s whereabouts at all times.
Anyone with information regarding the missing baby should contact the nearest police station.
