Woman arrested for brother's death

WINDHOEK, 11 MAY (NAMPA) - A 35-year-old woman from the Makena village in the Ndiyona Constituency of the Kavango East Region was arrested Thursday for the death of her brother.
The deceased has been identified as Gellasius Mutioma.
Namibian Police Force (NamPol) Regional Crime Investigations Co-ordinator in the Kavango Region, Deputy Commissioner Willie Bampton told Nampa on Thursday the suspect and deceased were drinking together at a local bar Wednesday evening.
Bampton said that while they were drinking, Mutioma told his sister to go home as she was getting drunk.
However, she got angry, picked up a broken bottle and allegedly stabbed her bother in the neck at about 19h00.
Mutioma died on the spot. The suspect fled the scene but was arrested Thursday.
The suspect is scheduled to appear in the Rundu Magistrate's Court on Friday.
His next of kin have been informed and investigations continue.
