WINDHOEK, 27 APR (NAMPA) - TransNamib has appointed Michael Feldmann as its acting chief executive officer.
A media statement issued late on Thursday and signed by Board Chairperson, Paul Smit said the Board in a meeting on Tuesday resolved that Feldmann, Executive of Operations, be appointed as acting CEO as of Thursday.
His appointment is effective for a period of three months or as determined by the Board.
The statement said the decision is in line with the Boards responsibility for succession planning, and granting different executives the opportunity to act in a higher position.
The previous acting CEO, Executive for Strategy and Stakeholder Management Hippy Tjivikua, had been acting as CEO since the suspension of Sara Naanda in October 2014.
Naanda was charged with breach of confidentiality, breach of trust and conflict of interest.
The two parties settled out of court in April 2016 after protracted negotiations.
Smit told Nampa last month the Board would interview candidates for the position during April.
