Two Injured In Truck Accident Near Gibeon

MARIENTAL, 25 MAY (NAMPA) ? Two men sustained serious injuries on Friday, after a truck in which they were travelling overturned some 27 kilometres on the gravel road between Gibeon and Gochas in the Hardap Region.
The truck which was transporting sheep. Of the 900 sheep which were in the trailer, 100 died in the accident.
Truck driver Jeffrey Isaacks, 27, suffered serious head and shoulder injuries while Garnold David, 17, suffered a broken arm.
Detective Inspector Asser Kapukare of the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) at Mariental told Nampa on Friday that there was a tyre burst on the trailer, causing the driver to lose control of the truck.
Kapukare could not provide details about which company the truck belongs to, but only said it was transporting the sheep from Aranos to Koes.
?Some of the sheep ran away into the bushes after the accident, but they were all traced and found. The truck is written off,? Kapukare said.
Isaacks and David were taken to the Mariental State Hospital for medical attention on Friday.
