OSHAKATI, 12 APR (NAMPA) – The Swapo leadership in Oshana has nominated three members for the party school’s first intake.
Swapo’s regional coordinator Erastus Kapolo told Nampa in an interview Tuesday Samuel Nelongo, Ndamononghenda Hamunyela and Matilde Nakwedhi have been nominated for courses at the party school in Windhoek.
Nelongo is the party’s district coordinator for the Ukwiyuushona District, Hamunyela is the deputy mayor of Oshakati and Nakwedhi is the party’s youth secretary in the region.
“We are yet to identify our outreach student,” Kapolo said.
The first party school training will be presented through an induction course on 19 April.
Students from the regions are expected to be in Windhoek before that date.
Kapolo indicated that students for the party school will pay N.dollars 205 for a training course of three to six months.
Speaking at Oshakati during his visit to northern Namibia last week, the Swapo Party School’s interim rector, former Deputy Prime Minister Marco Hausiku urged the party’s regional leadership to speed up the process of the appointment of their students.
Hausiku said the party school wants to promote free debate through interactive discussions and will also inform the students about the ideology and political programmes of the ruling party.
President Hage Geingob officially launched the school in May last year in Windhoek, and it has thus far organised public lectures by founding President Sam Nujoma and former President Hifikepunye Pohamba.
