Karasburg Charity Cup to light up the south

WINDHOEK, 11 APR (NAMPA) – The first-ever Karasburg Charity Cup will take place in that southern town in the //Kharas Region this Easter weekend.
The event will see football and netball teams compete for top honours.
It is aimed at raising money to buy school uniforms for learners in that town as well as blankets for children and the elderly for winter.
Tangeni Ndahutuka, one of the organisers, told Nampa on Tuesday that for them to realise the dream of supporting those less fortunate, more teams need to register for the cup to help raise enough funds.
Registration for the tournament is N.dollars 2 000 for football and N.dollars 1 000 for netball.
The Karasburg Charity Cup will be played at the Westerkim sports stadium from Saturday to Monday.
The winner of the football tournament will walk away with N.dollars 15 000; the runners-up N.dollars 10 000, N.dollars 6 000 for third place and N.dollars 3 000 for fourth place.
The netball winner will get N.dollars 4 000, the runners-up N.dollars 3 000 and third place N.dollars 1 000.
Registration will close on Thursday at 07h00, with the draw scheduled to take place at 09h00.
