Maswahu appointed as NamWater Board chairperson

WINDHOEK, 10 APR (NAMPA) - Thaddius Maswahu has been appointed as the chairperson of the Namibia Water Corporation (NamWater) Board of Directors.
The former Standard Bank Head of Marketing will be deputised by Anna Matros-Goreses with effect from 10 April 2017.
A media statement issued by the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Forestry on Monday said Minister John Mutorwa appointed Maswahu and Matros-Goreses in terms of Section 15 of the State Owned Enterprises Governance Act of 2006.
Maswahu, Matros-Goreses and Michael Gawaseb were reappointed by the minister as board members last Friday.
The other Board members are Hilda Jesaja, Laura Ashipala, Sikongo Haihambo, Joshua Kaumbi, Viviane Kinyanga, Postrick Mushendami and Aino Nsinano.
During the appointment, Mutorwa urged the members to acquaint themselves with all 45 sections of the NamWater Act of 1997 including its amendment, saying that it is on the basis of the Act that they will provide their leadership.
