ONGWEDIVA, 05 APR (NAMPA) - The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) in the Oshana Region is seeking the public’s assistance in tracing the whereabouts of a few men suspected of armed robbery at Ongwediva early Wednesday.
They allegedly committed the robbery at the Okamukuku Tyre Repair shop at Ongwediva.
Oshana Region NamPol spokesperson, Warrant Officer Thomas Aiyambo told Nampa on Wednesday the unknown number of suspects allegedly tied up the security guard who was on duty at the time and threatened him with a gun, before breaking into the shop.
It is not clear yet what they took.
Shoeprints were traced and one pair led police to one suspect. He, however, managed to evade arrest and fled.
“The suspect who is only wearing a blue striped T- shirt, an underwear with no shoes, is tall and light in complexion and is said to be around Epya Enene village in Oshana and Onepandaulo village in Ohangwena Region,” Aiyambo said.
The police have requested anyone with information that could lead to the suspects’ arrest to contact the nearest police station.
