Suspect in Tsumeb hit-and-run sought by police

OSHAKATI, 27 MAR (NAMPA) – The police in Tsumeb are looking for a man involved in a hit-and-run accident in the Nomtsoub residential area on Sunday.
Oshikoto Region's Deputy Crime Investigations Coordinator, Chief Inspector Edna Nawa said in the daily crime report on Monday the man is wanted for reckless and negligent driving, failure to render assistance to the injured person, as well as failure to report an accident to the police.
The report said the accident occurred at around 22h00, when 54-year-old Gabriel Neib was run over by the unidentified driver, who then reportedly drove off.
Community members reported the accident to the police, who transported the victim to the hospital.
He is reported to be in a stable condition.
Police investigations continue.
