Two cases of culpable homicide reported in Oshikoto

ONGWEDIVA, 24 MAR (NAMPA) - The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) in the Oshikoto Region is investigating two separate cases of culpable homicide after two people were run over by vehicles on Thursday and died.
Oshikoto Deputy Crime Investigations Coordinator, Chief Inspector Edna Nawa said this in the daily crime report issued Friday morning.
She said a 33-year-old man was hit by a pick-up vehicle while crossing the road from a shop in the Onankali area at about 20h20.
Nawa said the deceased, identified as Thobias Shikongo David, was declared dead on the spot by paramedics.
In the second incident, a woman was run over and killed by a pick-up while she was lying in the road at about 23h00 at the Onanke village in the same region.
She died on the spot.
Nawa noted that the deceased, identified as 39-year-old Aily Fillipus, was under the influence of alcohol when she was bumped while lying in the road shortly after exiting a nearby cuca shop.
The next of kin in both cases have been informed.
Police investigations continue.
