Geingob arrives at Rundu Stadium to spectacular performances

RUNDU, 21 MAR (NAMPA) – President Hage Geingob arrived at the Rundu Sports Stadium to a standing ovation from the crowd during the opening of the Independence celebration on Tuesday.
A proud Geingob could be seen waving to the masses as his motorcade drove around the stadium before inspecting the colourful parade by members of the navy, air and ground force of the Namibian Defence Force (NDF).
The Namibian leader also made an inspection with the guard of honour.
Geingob was welcomed with a 21-gun salute after greeting the thousands of Namibians who filled the Rundu Sports Stadium to capacity for the 27th Independence celebrations.
He was also welcomed with the song ‘Hage Geingob Ndjirayipi Wayenda' before taking his stand on the dais.
Meanwhile, three NDF helicopters flew past with the national colours followed by fighter jets. This was followed by skydivers free-falling into the stadium to applause from the crowd.
