Two minors drown in Omusati Region

OSHAKATI, 12 MAR (NAMPA) - Two separate incidents of drowning were reported in the Omusati Region over the weekend.
Namibian Police Force (NamPol) spokesperson in the Omusati Region, Lineekela Shikongo confirmed the incidents to Nampa on Sunday.
The first incident occurred on Friday at around 14h00 at Iishanaputa village, in the Onesi Constituency.
A boy of nearly two years old allegedly drowned in water at the threshing area of the household, where the deceased was playing with another child.
He has been identified Paulus Dankie Cloete from the same village.
The other incident occurred at Uukwandongo village in the Okahao Constituency.
It is alleged that the deceased, a nine-year-old boy, drowned in a well where he was swimming with his brothers on Friday.
He has been identified as Wilbard Uushona, a Grade 5 learner at Uukwandongo Combined School.
The incident occurred at around 14h30.
According to Shikongo, the well is not far from their homestead.
Uushonas body was however only discovered and retrieved on Saturday at around 12h15.
