WINDHOEK, 28 FEB (NAMPA – A 30-year-old man accused of killing his five-year-old daughter at Goreangab Dam last week made his first appearance in the Katutura Magistrate’s Court on Monday and was denied bail.
The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) on Friday arrested Gabriel Tulinane David, 30, in connection with the murder of his daughter, Cornelia Indileni David, on 19 February.
David appeared before Magistrate Bernadine Michelle Kubersky on charges of assaulting the mother of his child and murdering his daughter. After Kubersky explained to David his legal rights, David said he would conduct his own defence. Kubersky postponed the case to 10 May for further police investigation and because of the seriousness of the case. Kubersky said David may lodge a formal bail application.
David is employed as a soldier at the Suiderhof Military base in Windhoek.
