Chinese national dies in head-on collision near Oshivelo

OSHAKATI, 14 FEB (NAMPA) - A Chinese national died on the spot on Monday after the sedan he was driving collided head-on with a Nampost courier truck about 23 kilometres from Oshivelo.
The incident occurred on the Oshivelo-Tsumeb main road at around 23h15.
The Namibian Police Force (NamPol)’s Oshikoto Region Crime Investigations Coordinator, Naomi Katjiua said in a daily crime report on Tuesday the sedan was heading towards Oshivelo and the mini truck in the opposite direction when they collided.
The driver of the truck and his passenger did not sustain any injuries. The passenger in the sedan, believed to be the son of the deceased, however sustained an open wound to his head and was rushed to the Tsumeb State Hospital.
“He is in a stable condition,” Katjiua said.
The deceased’s next of kin are yet to be informed.
A case of culpable homicide has been opened.
