Missing girl’s body found in a well

OSHAKATI, 13 FEB (NAMPA) - The body of a nine-year-old girl was found floating in a well at the Iikokola village in the Omusati Region’s Tsandi Constituency on Sunday after she had been reported missing on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Penehafo Namalenga from the same village.
Namibian Police Force (NamPol) Spokesperson, Warrant Officer Lineekela Shikongo informed Nampa on Monday the deceased went missing on Friday at around 18h00 while walking home from a neighbour's homestead.
They notified the police, who organised a search.
“Her body was then discovered on Sunday at around 10h00 by relatives who continued searching for her,” Shikongo said.
Her next of kin have been informed.
In an unrelated matter, a man reportedly died of after collapsing during the early hours of Tuesday at Tsumeb.
Oshikoto Crime Investigations Coordinator, Naomi Katjiua said in the daily crime report on Sunday the man was employed as an ambulance driver at the Tsumeb State Hospital and was on duty when he allegedly collapsed.
He was pronounced dead at around 01h30.
The deceased has been identified as Kennedy Somseb.
His next of kin have been informed.
Police investigations continue.
