Woman commits suicide after alleged long illness

OSHAKATI, 09 FEB (NAMPA) - The lifeless body of a 54-year-old woman was Wednesday found in her room at Elago village in the Oshikoto Region.
Namibian Police Force Regional Deputy Crime Investigations Coordinator, Chief Inspector Edna Nawa informed the media in a police report on Thursday.
Nawa said it is alleged the deceased, who was said to have been sick for some time and was confined to her sleeping room, asphyxiated herself at around 19h00.
Selma Martin from Onelago village was found with two scarves tightly tied around her neck.
No foul play is suspected and no suicide note was found.
Her next of kin have been informed.
Police investigations continue.
